Amazon is the one mega-retailer you can count on for super speedy free shipping, music to keep you dancing, the merchandise you didn’t know existed (and now somehow desperately need), digital books and video for entertaining you, convenient delivery options, Amazon Clinic for your ailments and so much more. And now Amazon is set to save Prime members even more money on prescriptions.
On Jan. 24, Amazon Pharmacy announced a new Prime member-exclusive benefit starting now in most states (only 42 right now), giving you affordable access to commonly prescribed generic medications for over 80 conditions like high blood pressure, anxiety and acid reflux: Amazon Pharmacy RxPass.
“Prime members already get fast, free delivery on prescription medications, and RxPass is one more way to save with Amazon Pharmacy. Any customer who pays more than $10 a month for their eligible medications will see their prescription costs drop by 50% or more, plus they save time by skipping a trip to the pharmacy.”
John Love, vice president of Amazon Pharmacy
If you’re not familiar with Amazon Pharmacy, it’s a full-service pharmacy where you can purchase and have prescription medications delivered to you, with free two-day delivery for Prime members. Plus, pharmacists are available 24/7 to answer questions. With the new RxPass, Prime members receive eligible medications for a flat $5 a month fee and free delivery.
Here’s how to enroll in RxPass:
- Create or update your Amazon Pharmacy profile on amazon.com or through the mobile app.
- You’re then guided through a sign-up process to verify your eligibility and prescription info.
Amazon Pharmacy accepts most health insurance plans and HSA or FSA accounts if you’re not paying with RxPass.
