Bungie (NYSE:SONY), the studio that built popular online-player Destiny 2, has reportedly cut staff after some game delays.
The studio is laying off an unspecified number of employees, Blomberg reported, citing an email to employees from Bungie CEO Pete Parsons setting up a late-Monday team meeting.
That follows the recent move to delay an upcoming Destiny 2 expansion until June from February, which pushes it out of owner Sony’s (SONY) current fiscal year, Bloomberg noted.
Meanwhile, Bungie’s next game, Marathon, will move to 2025.
The reported moves are part of a wave of layoffs that have hit a number of videogame names over the past year.
