For the second weekend in a row, Taylor Swift’s outfit choices are making headlines. While that’s not totally not out of the norm, it is two weekends in a row that she’s made an appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs football game, making her outfit the talk around water coolers (virtual or otherwise) the next day.
Swift attended the game with her crew: Black Lively and Ryan Reynolds. If you were able to peel your eyes away from Reynolds, you couldn’t miss Swift flaunting her blingy crystal high-waisted denim shorts made by Area. And in standard Swift fashion, the pair is sold out everywhere despite their luxe price.
Area’s light blue denim shorts are adorned with crystals and spiky studs. The Logo-Lettering Denim Shorts ($695) are actually even cuter in the back. They have a cut-out across the top and logo crystal lettering going from one side to the other, which totally sets these jeans shorts apart from others.
Surprisingly, there aren’t a ton of look-alikes (but maybe more will come). You can throw a rock and hit a pair of blingy fringe jean shorts, but those don’t really have the same look. We’ve found some denim shorts that have the same-ish Area aesthetic but definitely not the Area brand price tag.

Although sizes are limited, this affordable pair is a close runner-up to the Area pair. It has rhinestones along the front pockets with an unfinished hem.

So, if these jean short picks really didn’t ring your bell, then you have no other option than to make your own and create it any way you want. Hopefully, you already have a handy pair of denim shorts in your stash; if not, then grab a pair at a thrift store or shop at your favorite retailer because you’re likely to find them on sale.
